October always seems to get away from me! I'm not sure why it's always one of the quickest months, but it is. Here are a few heres and theres:

When Nana came in we headed over to Greenwood, SC for one of Mark's old colleague's wedding reception. It was good to catch up with everyone who is now practicing in the real world or doing a fellowship.

Mark, Will, and Nana also headed to the airshow in Augusta and ran into Will's friend West. It wasn't quite the Thunderbirds that Mark grew up seeing, but none the less still a neat thing in Augusta.

For all those toddler parents out there, we just got Will some babiators. After Will lost two pairs of sunglasses and broke one of Mark's pairs we decided it was time to get him his own. These jems have a lifetime warranty on them and can be replaced if ever broken or lost! Genius!

Since we couldn't get the Texas v. Kansas game (I think that was probably a good thing) we met up with some friends to watch the Georgia v. Florida game. What a great game and Will and Wynne kept each other entertained the entire time.

Pumpkins were carved in preparation for this week.

And we have been birthdaying it up with a few of Will's friends.

Next up a rowdy Halloween, okay so probably not rowdy on a Wednesday night with a 2 year old, but Mark already has his costume ready. Then we are taking a quick weekend trip to Helen, GA located on the Chattahoochee River (I've promised Mark I won't sing Alan Jackson's song to many times.)

Round Up 2 Year Old Style

Okay, so there was no beer, crawfish, or band, but this is what I envision Roundup to be for a 2 year old. Last weekend when Nana was in we were invited to attend the EDS private school Fall Festival. It's one of their big recruitment events and since Will would be elegible to go next year we received a special invitation and arm band. I've got to be honest, Mark and I are strong advocates for public school, but after attending the festival I would be second guessing myself if we were staying in Georgia.

Lulu reminded me I had yet to post about my fate with sugar and carbs. Since this is my 2nd rodeo I ended up having to test for gestational diabetes at 14 weeks. Luckily, my doctor struck a deal with me to not call with my results till after OU weekend (so glad Stacey got that fried pb&j for us and we made it to MiCocina!) Well, the results are back and I have it again. Last time I had to manage it for roughly 90 days which was tough. This time no surgar or carbs for 175 days. It is rough, it gets old, and I miss my favs, but on the upside it helps me manage my weight and bounce back a lot quicker after birth. Plus this time around I have a little more knowlege and am trying a few new tricks to get me through it. However, whoever said, "I don't need sugar, I'm sweet enough" must have been on crack.

Oh Neimans

I've got to be honest, I looked through the Neiman-Tarjay lookbook and was bit underwhelmed. After the build up and let down I thought I'd torture myself with the Neiman's Christmas catalog. I only made it to one page since Will decided he wanted to make Easter egss and had the eggs out and was about to start cracking them on the floor, but wahla....

48 Hours

Most of our trips back to Texas are less than 48 hours on Texas soil which makes it tough to see all our family and friends. This was the first trip where I felt we successfully accomplished both. Of course we would have loved to have more time with everyone, but it's always nice to have the time that you have and pick up right where you left off.

Dr. Ken also had the perfect man cave for Will who loved playing in his costume closet and with all of his helmets!

We loved getting to catch up with the Dr. and Dr. Parker. I think Mark is a little envious of Jeff's schedule, and I realized how much we needed to book a flight to St. Louis to see him and MK soon.

The Texas State Fair

I love having the game at the Cottonbowl, especially because it allows us to experience the State Fair. This year Will and I went in early so we could spend Friday with the fam riding rides, eating fried food, and playing games. Will loved it all, especially the rides! This is definitely a new tradition we will continue to do.
