I see you
Saturday night we hosted the department fajitas and ritas party. It's a great way for the residents to bond outside of the stressful hospital. What a great time and it was great to finally meet the new first year residents.
A heated game of croquet got started late night
The los ojos
The new residents
The veterans
The 2nd year residents
I think I took this picture after I told the only eye joke I could remember:
What do you call a one-eyed dinosaur? - Douthinkhesaraus
These guys...I'll have to work on my joke bag.
Lala, I did do a little bit of decorating. It's amazing how much harder it is to find fiesta decorations in Georgia. I swear I searched an hour for the Jesus candles to no avail.
Sunday morning we were still feeling the festive mood and made these! The recipe can be found on my friend Erin's blog.

Friday Faves
Catrinas: My mom recently attended a charity dinner with this lovely tablescape. I have always wanted catrinas, but truthfully never quite knew when and how I would use them. These are by far the prettiest ones I have ever seen, which of course now will ensure a hunt to find them.
Orbit Cobra Mistand- We got this for $10 at Home Depot. You attach it to your water hose and bend it to be right in front of your fan. The result is a water misting fan similar to the ones you see at restaurants. This gadget has been great for our patio.

Thanks to my friend Lisa for finding me toddler columbia fishing shirts. Mark and I always look at Academy, but they are always way to big. Lisa said to go to columbia.com and they have fishing shirts for 2T-4T. I scooped up two of these babies: one for Will and one for cousin Eli's birthday in September.
These both cracked me up today!
How fun are these nose cups?

Carl Spackler's Product Review
We may have mentioned before that a mole(s) has come to occupy our yard. If you want to get Mark "aka Carl Spackler" flustered just let a mole loose to destroy his prestine yard.
We tried this first, it didn't work.
We tried this second. It produces a high pitched sound every minute to drive a mole crazy...not our mole.
We finally went big time after Mark contemplated hiring a pest guy to trap the little booger. The pest guy recommended the below gummy bear looking bait which has produced one dead mole (thank god as this is way more in line with our mole budget!)
Hallelujah! Mark swears there are more so moles be on the look out because this Texan is coming after you.

Heatwave
What do you do when your AC breaks in the dead of summer...stay cool anyway possible!
Will finally worked up the courage to jump off the diving board and once he started there was no stopping in him.

Back to Back World War Champions
Happy Birthday America!
When Will's friend Andrew asked him to be in his neighborhood parade, we jumped at the chance. We love Andrew's parents and if Clemson ever joins the big XII I see many football trips together. What a great time had by all at the parade and picnic, and I'm not sure who was more excited about the firetruck: Will & Andrew or their dads!

Heat Wave
It feels like Texas so we've been cooling off anyway possible.
Saturday night we headed to Old McDonald Fish Camp with some of the other residents. The fish camp is a hole in the wall in SC that has great atmosphere, great grits and hushpuppies, and lots of animals. The rest of the food isn't all that great, but seeing the boys get excited about feeding the catfish, goats, and ducks made the trip out there worth it. Plus, Will got to try his first froglegs.
