Count Down to OU

We have finally mastered the hook'em after a lot of practice. Thank you horns for the big win, I feared I would be cleaning dishes for a second job after the West Virginia game.

Hey Jude

Some of you know how our lives have been touched by a sweet boy here in Augusta. I work with his mom and grandfather and have seen first hand the amazing work St. Jude has provided their family for the last three years. Mark and I are so blessed to have a healthy little boy, and can not imagine what these other parents go through. I thought I'd share this video which shows Brennan with Robin Williams. Please pray for all these kids and remember this cause.

She's a beauty

This is a pic of our new couch! We are estatic, and my mom is super excited our old one has been replaced. Yes the white leather couch was moved to the street and luckily picked up by our neighbors up the street who volunteered to take it to Greenbrier High School where it would make a wonderful addition to the football press box or the student lounge. We are glad that it has found a second home and will provide more comfort to someone else. We also are equally glad to have had it off the street/gone from the front of our house in less than 12 hours! Strict rules have been enforced on the new couch which include no eating/drinking, jumping, or shoes on the couch which could leave to a sand pit under the cushions. There is also that rule of no putting holes in it for Will. So far so good and hopefully this beauty will be with us for many more years to come! Now on to the search for throw pillows, much to Mark's dismay.

Stone Mountain

So as I mentioned I basically nagged my family until they booked their flights to come to Georgia. Luckily, my sister Leisha also put on the full court press in Texas and a weekend getaway was planned right outside of Atlanta. What a great weekend and Will is still asking about everyone and when he gets to go to Texas to see them next. He loved playing with Elle and Eli, and I loved loving on them too. Luckily we are heading back to Texas in 3 weeks for OU which made it a little easier to say goodbye to everyone on Sunday (of course Will and I cried the whole way back to Augusta, but this is quite an improvement on our part.) Plus we are getting super excited to see our other fam in Dallas...get ready Mirelezs and Nana and Pops, Will is already asking for you guys and when we get to get on the airplane! I can't wait to love and spoil Sia so let the count down begin!

Will & Eli are basically the same size, everywhere we went everyone asked us if they were twins.

Stone Mountain 2012

Last weekend we headed to Stone Mountain! We had a great time and were lucky to have the Ehlert clan meet us there for duck boat tours, gandola and train rides, and the laser light show. More pics to follow once I get caught up from the weekend.

Quack

You may remember we had Billy the Beta. The first one died within hours and the second one was a fighter and made it almost 5 months. The fish was great, but a little more work than we intended as we were cleaning the tank one to two times a week. Billy mysteriously went to Texas to visit our family and never came back. We debated about having the whole death talk, but figured Will was to young to get it anyways. To our surprise Will never asked about him again.

The debate for a pet lingers at our house. We obviously want one, but are not at the point where we can handle one so the following conversations occur....
Mark: This may sound crazy, but just hear me out. What do you think about getting Will three little chickens for a pet and building a pen for them in the back corner of the yard where the pine straw is. We could have fresh eggs, Will could have a pet, and they make great fertilizer, and aren't much work. Then when we leave in a year I can give them to my attending who already has some and whose kids love them.
Me: Have you lost your mind? Their ordinances probably against having chickens in city limits, plus they stink, and are not friendly like dogs. I'm pretty sure our neighbors would hate us.
Mark: What, I'm sure their kids would love them.
Me: I'm pretty sure their dog would want to eat them. If you want to get a pet for Will get him a dog. Plus the only chicken I want at the house is fried.
Mark: We could make that happen if we had chickens.
Yes, this is what I live with...and I do not fabricate when I say Mark was 100% serious about getting chickens.

Gameday Saturday

You know it's kickoff weekend in Augusta when 12lb. briskets arrive at Casa Del Trevino.
All day is spent cooking brisket, drinking cervezas, watching football, intermixed with a little yard work (aka: Mark's perfect day!)
...and because we will be eating brisket all week a few on call residents stopped over to help us devour it!
Best quote of the day: "Daddy did you see the ladybug!" Referring to ohio state's buckeye mascot on tv.

Unleash the Beast

It's official we are ready to rumble again!

 Holla!
