Popo & RaRa's Visit

Happy Memorial Day! We had a blast with Popo and RaRa this weekend. Will got so spoiled with walks around the neighborhood and playtime in the exercauser and on the floor mat. We love you Popo and RaRa!

Saturday we headed to Aiken, SC (the men wanted to go the brewery and mom and I wanted to check out the town square.) To our surprise when we got there, there was a Memorial Day parade. Will loved seeing all the armed service men and his 1st parade.

Need More Fish in our Diet

Mark mentioned the other day that we needed to add more fish to our diet. I completely agree and had gotten quite spoiled living in Houston and going fishing with dad and Uncle John in Matagorda, Port A and Sea Drift and bringing home fresh trout, reds and flounder for dinner. I had the best intention to pick up some fresh fish but instead came home with this! Now that's what I call adding fish to the diet. I had a Sweetwater beer too, but mark was craving fish after his overnight call and it disappeared before I could get a pic!

Happy Hydrangeas

Wow, does times fly...just a year a go Stacey and Mark were trekking through 5 states with the U-Haul to move us to our new home. Thank heaven for sisters as I'm not sure Mark could have done the move by himself. Plus without Stacey's urging we would not have these beautiful hydrangeas. I was a bit worried they may have died from the snow in February, but they are resilient and just starting to bloom. The most fascinating thing is that all hydrangeas are the same color when you buy them. The color of the bloom all depends on what type of soil you have (Blue hydrangeas if your soil is acidic and pink or red hydrangeas if soil is neutral.) I had planned on trying to alter our hydrangeas so we could have both, but was surprised when they started blooming to see both colors so close together. It's amazing that our soil can be so different a mere few feet away. I am definitely loving the gardening here in Augusta. We have gone from blooming pear trees, to dogwoods, to tulip trees, to azaleas, to now hydrangeas! I hear the gardenias and magnolias are next and lets not forget about Mark's tomatoes which are starting to take off too!

Aunt Stacey & Cowboy Jake's Visit

I love, love, love my sister and brother in law!!! Will and I hadn't seen them since the end of February so when they booked their flight in March to come visit we both started counting down the days till we could see them again. After seeing Hilton Head and Savannah they got into Augusta Friday night. Will had so much fun playing with them and it was so relaxing to grill out and just catch up!Will loved his Hilton Head hat that he got!
He loved wearing the hat backwards

Mark had to work on Saturday, so at the spur of the moment, Stacey, Jake and I decided to do an overnight adventure to Charleston! I can't tell you how much fun it was and I had forgotten how great it is to just get up and go with no plans! Charleston is definitely one of my favorite cities and I can just not get enough of it. Will had so much fun playing with Stacey and Jake and I sure did enjoy getting a chance to relax.
Will in his 1st hotel! Aunt Stacey and Cowboy Jake sure do know how to spoil us.
Getting ready for our big day in Charleston!

Mark's trip to Texas

After Mark took his third board test he flew to Texas for the week. Will and I were having a pitty party here in Augusta, but excited too that Mark finally got to have some time off, relax and see his friends (He hadn't been back in 10 months!) That's the great thing about friends, you can go a while with out seeing each other and still pick up right where you left off.
Ken and Sarah's Wedding in Dallas. Yes late night involved the Karate kid and American Gladiator outfits!
MK and Mark busting a move
From all the videos and the 150+ pictures Mark took, it looks like it was a blast!

The med boys doing the 3 amigos in their seersucker!
Ken's awesome cake! They used a digital frame so the pictures kept changing looking like the tv had different channels!

Relaxing by the pool and I'm sure catching up on residency talk.
