It's Official

Come March 23rd we are having another little boy! We are over the moon excited.

Big Day

Yes, we will know the fate of our country tonight. I'm not one to express political views on anyone, but this election will play a big impact on our family's life with Mark's profession, so it's one that we will be watching closely.

We also have an appointment to find out if Baby T is a boy or a girl. We loved not finding out the sex with Will.This time around, after much deliberation, we have decided to find out the sex. Will is  adamant it's a baby sister, so we figured we might need to prepare him if in case it's a baby brother. Mark also thought it would help in packing/clearing stuff out before the baby comes and before for the big move back to Texas in July. I was on the fence on finding out, but with no gut instinct this time around, my curiosity is getting the best of me.  I swear that at 5months I feel like we are the last people on earth to know the sex, and it's been driving me a little crazy. I almost paid $45 for the drugstore gender prediction test...thank God they were out of stock.

So tomorrow holds big news for us: whatever the baby is, and as long as it's healthy we will be happy. Not sure I can say the same about the election.

Helen, GA.

 Helen is a small town in north Georgia that apparantly had a lot of mining until the 60s.  When the mine gave out, the town came up with the idea to style itself as a Bavarian mountain town to fleece tourists.  Just the sort of thing Los Trevinos are into.  Since then, the zoning laws state that any building must be in that style, so even the Wendy's is in a Bavarian Alps style.  As such, it is essentially like oktoberfest year round here.  We rented a cabin about 20 minutes out with the Sneads and had a great time.  I didn't get my schnitzel, but I did get down on some Bratwurst, Saurkraut, and a bevy of Kraut beers (Paulaner Oktoberfest is great).  Also, the Chatahoochee river flows through the town (made famous by the terrible 90s Alan Jackson country song) although it is much smaller here than near Atlanta

On our way home on Sunday we stopped in Athens for an amazing brunch at Mama's Boys. It was an hour wait to get in which gave Amy plenty of time to check out the latest sorority girl fashion, drink several decaf cups of jittery joes, and pick out what she would have had if she didn't have the sugars. A perfect brunch to end a great weekend.

October

October always seems to get away from me! I'm not sure why it's always one of the quickest months, but it is. Here are a few heres and theres:

When Nana came in we headed over to Greenwood, SC for one of Mark's old colleague's wedding reception. It was good to catch up with everyone who is now practicing in the real world or doing a fellowship.

Mark, Will, and Nana also headed to the airshow in Augusta and ran into Will's friend West. It wasn't quite the Thunderbirds that Mark grew up seeing, but none the less still a neat thing in Augusta.

For all those toddler parents out there, we just got Will some babiators. After Will lost two pairs of sunglasses and broke one of Mark's pairs we decided it was time to get him his own. These jems have a lifetime warranty on them and can be replaced if ever broken or lost! Genius!

Since we couldn't get the Texas v. Kansas game (I think that was probably a good thing) we met up with some friends to watch the Georgia v. Florida game. What a great game and Will and Wynne kept each other entertained the entire time.

Pumpkins were carved in preparation for this week.

And we have been birthdaying it up with a few of Will's friends.

Next up a rowdy Halloween, okay so probably not rowdy on a Wednesday night with a 2 year old, but Mark already has his costume ready. Then we are taking a quick weekend trip to Helen, GA located on the Chattahoochee River (I've promised Mark I won't sing Alan Jackson's song to many times.)
