High Hampton Inn, NC: The Sneads Wedding

Mark and his moonshine (the only one legal to sell in NC)
Cute idea to sign paddles that will hang on their wall instead of a guest book.
Smores and Cocktails
Guitars!
Looking for the bullfrog that woke up Will at 6:45 both mornings.  If I could find that thing, it would be frog legs for dinner
Ed and Fred: the donkeys
Looking svelte
Will met his match, a sweet little girl from Kentucky who loved to dance as much as he did!
Even her brother got in on the action.

And a dance with Dr. and Mrs. Snead
Sunday morning outside of our cabin
A quick canoe trip before heading to see the waterfalls
The boys enjoying their ride while mommy paddles
Whitewater Falls, NC: the highest falls East of the Mississippi (411 feet)

Just Shy of 2 1/2

Will is at a fun age, he is talking, running, and keeping our lives entertaining. While last year this time we were stressing over his hair pulling, we eventually decided to shave it all off and the problem fixed itself. It's funny how since he was born we move from stressing over one thing to the next (I guess that is the life of a parent, because as they grow I'm sure it will continue.) The current stress is Will's odd biting behavior. Mark and I have been called into the Principal's office to discuss next Tuesday. We've been trying several tactics, but are going to chalk it up to me reading twilight while pregnant and creating a mini vampire:) Good thing we didn't get pregnant while reading Hunger Games! Other than that just a few odds and ends to help us remember this time:
-Will what do you want for Breakfast? "Easter Eggs".
-You are still terrified of mascots, but are coming around to them (ie Auggie the GreenJacket, MonkeyJoe, and Stevie the Pizza)
-You like to watch Monsters, Inc., Nemo, and Gabba
-You have your mom's eating habits unfortunately: bread, tortillas, cheese, pasta, cupcakes, guacamole
-You also are quite the talker
-Current obsessions: your guitar, dinosaurs, lawn mowers and blowers, motorcycles and helmets, the water hose, animals, the bear book
-You are starting to learn your colors which is a relief to your dad who thought you might be color blind
-You love to be outside and playing with the neighbors
-Favorite things to say: "Look at me, Look at me" "See that" "What you doing" "Whats That"
-Favorite songs: Jesus Loves Me and God our Father

Back on Call

Hello, Mr. Beeper. I enjoyed not hearing you go off at all hours of the day/night last year. You allowed us to take some trips, have cocktails, see some football games, and all in all enjoy our days/weekends. I was not happy to see you return yesterday which means Mark's year of no call has come to an end. I am very thankful for that year as I know a lot of other residents do not get it, but now that I have had a taste of the sweet life do not accept a warm reception back.

Just What the Dr. Ordered

Last week I was at my wits end: stressed, defeated, missing family and friends, and all around worn out. It's funny how Mark seems to always know when I am close to my breaking point and sweeps in, mends my concerns, and give me a dose of a good time to keep me going. Saturday was no different when he surprised me by whisking me away to Columbia, SC for a date night. What did this girl need: The Immortal World Cirque du Soleil (Michael Jackson) and a stiff martini! Man that doctors know just what his patient needs!
Don't worry Will was in good hands...Dr. Brad wanted one last low key weekend before he ties the knot this weekend in Cashiers, NC. Mark and I tried to convince him that babysitting Will was not our idea of low key, but he insisted. This was the first time Will was genuinely excited about a babysitter and Dr. Brad said he had a great time with Will too (although I think Will may have worn him out a bit.)  Now back to the grind, but a little wedding in five days has us all excited and gives us motivation to get through the week.

Sweet Kicks

Yes, you are looking at my sweet kicks designed for my birthday from Mark. If you know me you know I wear tennis shoes with everything (yes I'm sure sometimes it's a fashion faux pas) and I usually don't replace them for 3 years. I'm hoping these babies help me run faster, jump higher, touch my toes, and hit the Y outside of Bodyflow class regularly. I'll let you know which one of these happen... I'll settle at least for the last one (it's amazing how much neon motivates me.)
Texas Fight!
I guess what is good for the goose is good for the gander because Mark picked up a 2nd pair of sweet custom boots.
This is Will showing us his sweet move without sweet kicks. His Yoga is so much better than mine.
