1 Month Old

It's hard to believe that this time last month we were at the hospital having William. We love our sweet little angel and can't wait for all our Tejas friends to see and meet him!

Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk

Who ever came up with this saying must not have breastfed. I have now twice in my clumsiness spilled bags of milk that I have pumped. It takes a lot of hard work to get a bag full and the milk is like liquid gold: it gets Will to sleep, allows mom to have a cocktail and lets dad do some bottle bonding with his son. So yes, I have cried over spilled milk now twice, luckily we had the new bluebell grooms cake ice cream in the freezer-ice cream makes everything better.

Gilad Bodies in Motion

Growing up my mom and I would do aerobics to Gilad. He's 80s fabulous, gets your heart pumping and makes you feel the burn. Many of my friends will remember my Gilad workouts and I have to admit that I made Mark keep our vhs player so I could workout to his vhs tape I stole from my mom. Great news: the vhs can now be retired- I have found channel 155 (fit tv) that shows Gilad workouts at 1 am, 3am, 9 am and 5 pm! So long baby weight- Gilad and I have a date to burn that belly flab!

We're Back

Mama's Boy: This is not the best pic of our little one, but I love the onesie so much I had to post it!
Dubbie and Dad right before bedtime
Our little snuggleasaurs!
Just chilling for the ladies- look at those guns!
Sorry we have been MIA. Mark went back to work and we have had our hands full! It was so nice having Mark home with us for a week and a half, it was the first time he has had off more than 1 day in 5 months...needless to say we took full advantage of it and enjoyed getting spoiled by him! Now he is back at work on an oncology rotation that has him working a 13 hour shift and Will and I are definitely missing him and his extra hands.

Opening a Bigger Can of Worms

So what do you do when you have a 4 week year old and are home on maternity leave? Yes, have your bathrooms remodeled! So not ideally the best situation, but Will doesn't mind the loud noises and except for feeding in private and living temporarily out of our guest room everything seems to be working out. Our bathrooms have rotted flooring so project bathroom makover is needed to have two working baths. After a long process of getting quotes and picking out tile etc, we finally started the remodeling on Monday. The plan is to remodel the master bathroom first and then the guest bathroom second (goodbye powder blue tile and tub and geriatric plastic shower.)
After gutting the master bath yesterday we discovered standing water underneath our entire house. You have to love house projects-they always start off small and get bigger once you start. I'll keep you all posted and be on the lookout for before and after bathroom makeover pictures in the coming weeks.

Rubber Ducky Your the One

Dubba's 1st bath! We weren't a fan of the bath at 1st and may have peed on the ceiling but we got the hang of it in the end. Aunt Stacey and Cowboy Jake we love our Longhorn towel!

Going Bananas with Larry B. Scott

What do you do when you have 4 bananas that need to be eaten, rum, banana liquer, butter, brown sugar, vanilla ice cream, and a hankering for waffles? Bananas Foster Waffles of course! We had date night last night and the braised short ribs and mashed potatoes were a little more filling than we planned so the dessert was put on hold.....for breakfast. Let me just say that we need to open a breakfast place that features this dish because they were the best waffles ever. And yes, we made sure to cook off the alcohol so Will didn't get his swerve on.

The finished product with Blue Bell Vanilla peeking out

Still haven't put up the holly plates yet (been a little busy)

On another note, you know the actor Larry Scott, who plays the gay guy in Revenge of the Nerds? Do you realize he is also in the Karate Kid (cobra kai), Iron Eagle (member of the eagles), and Space Camp (Rudy)? He was in some of the most pivitol movies of my young life. Revenge of the Nerds (in combination with Police Academy) was the first time I saw the female form in its glory after my parents told me not to watch it. I took Karate at age 6 and eventually became a black belt because of the Karate Kid. I also went to space camp on the tiny chance that I would sit in the space shuttle and accidently get launched due to a robot built by a young Joaquin Phoenix. And finally, Iron Eagle was just plain bad ass. If he had been in Rad, then I think I would owe who I am now to him as much as my parents. As it is, I owe Larry quite a bit.
