Gobble Gobble Gobble

Happy Turkey day everyone from the Trevinos. Under the theory that even tough guys like me need their mommy sometimes, my mom made the trek out to celebrate our first Thanksgiving in Augusta. I realize I look like the godfather in the picture, but we kind of ran out of picture ideas. You get the idea. (and yes, Texas was playing). We had some cornish game hens, hesters rice, green bean casserole, stuffing, gravy, pie, etc. It was a memorable night and it was nice to remind ourselves just how lucky we are for all the wonderful things in our lives. I am especially thankful for my loving family (from Trevinos to Ehlerts to Shepards), my wonderful friends here and back in Texas, and my loving and almost ready to pop wife. Enjoy the three days of football everyone because it will be over before we know it and we will be forced to watch MLB baseball at some point in the near future. Eat Your Heart Out Marcus

I'm so lucky to have a husband who loves to keep up his yard! Since we have moved here I have learned more about crabgrass, mowing and can already tell you Mark's plans on projects for the Spring in the yard. Recently, Mark put out rye to help make the yard greener. He's spent a lot of time in the yard and it looks great! I may or may not have accidently killed part of our grass turning into our driveway (still getting use to the tahoe.) So to offer a truce for killing our grass, which did not make Mark very happy with me, I thought I'd get a quick shot showing my appreciation for our beautiful yard with a promise to make wider turns into our driveway:)

Shout out to St. Louis & the Parkers

When Mark was in med school we were so lucky to have met so many great friends to share the 4 year experience with. From MED the frat, to tacky christmas parties and halloween costumes, to hog roastings and fish frys our group was tight nit and a lot of fun. Everyone is now all over the U.S. doing their residencies but the boys do a great job of staying in touch with each other! Yesterday, Mark had a long day of call and got home to find this awesome onesie from our friends Jeff and MK. Jeff is in St. Louis doing his residency and MK is finishing up med school in Texas and will start her residency in derm in June. Thank you guys for the pressie, it's definitely Mark's favorite.

Christmas Brew

After birthing class I decided to invest in a heating pad for back pain for the last month. I thought I was crazy because all this week I have been looking for the heating pad I bought for my back and because the heater is out and won't be fixed till the Friday after Thanksgiving. I thought I was losing my mind and even started to wonder if I dreamed that I had bought one...however, I finally found it after three days of looking. Our house may be cold and the back may ache, but by god we will have fermented Christmas brewskys. Yes Baby T your dad has a special batch that should be ready just in time for your arrival and Christmas!

This week in Augusta

It's been quite the week here in Augusta so I thought I'd let you know what's been going on.

1.) Uga, the Georgia bulldog mascot, died. It was very devastating to some people and I heard that a lot of people in Georgia cried and morned his death. I guess that's the difference in having a steer or a dog for a mascot.

2.) The trees are starting to change colors here. Leavers, as they are known in the North, are starting to migrate to the Carolinas to see the red, orange, and yellow hues.
3.)Thanksgiving is this weekend and Mark's mom will be coming to visit Tuesday-Friday. We are so excited to have her come visit for the first time. Only hiccup is a cold front blew in and our heater broke. Hello space heaters, you are a great invention!

4.) Mark has started to put up the outside Christmas lights (don't worry we won't turn them on till after Thanksgiving.) Since we moved in June Mark has been excited to have a house he can finally line with lights-hello Griswolds Mark is ready to give you a run for your money. I'll post pics once all the lights are up.

West Texas Pronghorns!

Since it's hunting season and Mark has only gotten to go once up here for a few hours, I thought I'd show some pics of my dad's trip in West Texas. Love the pics dad and am waiting for you and the Ehlert guys to head to San Saba and send us some pics of all the deer.

What is the number one question we get asked here: Are you related to Lee Trevino? I can see why people would think we are related since this is a golfing town and the Merry Mex or Super Mex as he is known in the golf world is a legend here. Plus Lee is from Dallas, Texas and was raised by his mother Juanita, his grandfather Joe Trevino and his dad Joseph Trevino (Same name as you Papa Doc!)
